Why is a collapsed scissor lift harder to raise?
Fit the components, then test the mechanism.
The crossed links convert horizontal shortening into vertical motion. Near the bottom, a small vertical lift needs a large horizontal actuator force. The link lengths stay fixed at every angle.
One massless X stage; L is half a link. Actuator pulls lower full span. Quasistatic, mechanical stops 15°–70°.
Raise 100 kg above 1 m within actuator capacity.
Raise the load within actuator capacity.
