Where does a pollen grain need to land?
Move the grain onto the labelled stigma, not a petal.
Pollination transfers pollen from an anther to a compatible stigma. A grain on a petal has not pollinated the flower. After successful transfer, a pollen tube can grow toward an ovule; fertilization is a later event.
Two compatible flowers; insect travel is represented by a movable grain. Successful transfer onto the stigma is pollination; tube growth and fusion are later processes. No pollination on petals.
Pollinate a compatible stigma and distinguish that transfer from fertilization.
Deliver pollen to a compatible stigma.
