Why does filtered glucose usually return to blood?
Fit the specimen and set conditions before running.
Pressure makes small solutes enter the capsule. Cells and large proteins stay in the capillary. Tubular transporters reclaim glucose, up to their finite capacity.
One-nephron bench model K=0.005 µL/(min·mmHg); small solutes pass, cells/large proteins stay in blood. No systemic GFR, diagnosis or medication model.
Filter water while reclaiming all glucose in this small specimen.
Compare filtered and reclaimed glucose.
