How can groundwater flow through a solid-looking aquifer?
Fit the components before testing.
Water moves through connected pore space under a hydraulic-head gradient. Darcy discharge depends on conductivity and cross-sectional area; pore velocity is faster than discharge divided by the total area because only pores carry the water.
Homogeneous saturated aquifer, Darcy laminar flow. K in m/s, illustrative section area/length. No pumping-well design, contamination transport or water-supply prediction.
Move at least 0.8 L/s toward the downstream reservoir.
Drive downstream flow with a hydraulic-head difference.
