Which motion changes the pitch?.
Does moving the speaker do the same as moving your ear?

Fit the speaker and receiver before measuring the tone.
A moving source changes the spacing of wavefronts emitted into the air. A moving receiver instead encounters the existing wavefronts at a different rate. Both can raise the received pitch when moving toward one another, but they appear in different places in the Doppler equation. Motion away lowers the pitch.
One-dimensional constant velocities in still air at 343 m/s, all speeds below sound speed. Display shows an observation of at most 12 s, stopping before the devices meet with frequency and time slowed by 440; the numerical pitch is physical. No shock waves, wind or relativistic effects.
Receive a 500 Hz tone from the moving 440 Hz source.
Compare source and receiver motion’s effects on received frequency.
